Ryan Adams takes on Iron Maiden

Not two artists that the Ironbath would normally associate together but when Ryan appeared on Simon Mayo’s Drivetime radio show on 30th August this was the cover that he chose to perform for the Great British Songbook. Ridiculously he made the song his own and you’d never have identified its genesis in the heavy metal world.

Also on the show Ryan performed the leading single from his forthcoming album ‘Ashes And Fire’. The track is called Lucky Now and it sounds like classic Ryan Adams. The Ironbath suspects that there will be stiff competition with Gillian Welch’s ‘Harrow & The Harvest’ and Robbie Robertson’s ‘How To Be A Clairvoyant‘ for album of the year. They are certainly the three most hotly anticipated albums of this year.
